Amy's First Day Back to School--Emma's First Full Day with Gram!

We got out the crib that Amy and Emily used many
years ago. I scrubbed it and disinfected it. We bought
a new mattress. Everything shiny and clean.
AND WE WERE READY FOR
EMMA!
And here she is! In her bed at Grandma &
Grandpa's where she is staying while
Mom Amy goes back to work until her
teaching contract is over for the year! She is even using the crib sheet we got for
Emily when she was a baby!
She and Grandma were having a fun time
talking. Mostly Gram talking and Emma
smiling. Sometimes she makes the
cutest sounds! She has found her tongue
and loves to roll it around in her mouth!

Another adorable smile! She is smiling more and more
all the time! And does she ever respond to her
Mom! She and Grandma are working on
similar responses!

Isn't she getting big! She loves to lay and kick her
legs. And when her legs go, so do her arms!

She is so bright-eyed and loves to look around at everything!

Weight Update

Although the scale shows 9 #, we had to hold it up--
she was really 10#!
She goes to the doctor this Friday for her two-month
checkup. We'll see how much she really weighs then!
Don't we all wish that we could get excited to go to the
doctor's and get weighed! Now (for some of us) it
only means we have to hit the pavement and cut
back on food! Oh, the joys of being a baby!

Grandma Really Does Exist!! And here is the evidence!

I just downloaded some pictures from my camera and I had forgotten Amy took these photos of me and Emma the first part of March (I think March 5th.) I just want everyone to know that I DO exist and get to come out from behind the camera sometimes! Emma and I were having a wonderful conversation! Mostly one-sided. I just love being a grandmother! And Emma is just such a beautiful child. AND I AM NOT PREJUDICED! Thanks Amy and Rodger for this wonderful gift!

Who is that behind the wheel of Mom's car????

Who is in there thinking she can drive
Mom's car???
None other than Emily! She is only
17 years and 4 months old and
she will actually have her driver's
license on March 11! I can hardly
wait to quit driving her everywhere!

When Emily hit the brakes for a last minute
stop, Sadie wasn't so sure she should have
stowed away in the back seat!
(Love you anyway, Em!)

Emily's Driving, Emma, Kenneth 4-Wheeling, & Stuff

Emily drove us to St. George!
Kenneth "getting a grip"

Sometimes Dads can be sooooo annoying!
(Notice he is blowing in her ear!)

Giving Emily some pointers--
which she so loves! NOT!!
Emily is working very hard to
keep her grades way up this
semester. And she is doing it!
So far, A's in all classes!
It's great for everyone!
Keep up the good work Emily!
Sadie keeping warm in the "long hall."
That is as far into the house as I will
let her get! (She just had to get
her picture on the blog. Everyone
else is!)

Emily and Emma are getting to
know each other really well!
Tiffany and Daniel came over for a
little dinner party. Here Isabella
is getting to know her cousin Emma!
Their moms are excited to have each
other around!
Emma with a great hairdo!
She has her Daddy's curly hair!
It goes straight, but puffy when it dries!
Emily helps Amy give Emma a
bath! Emily got to "scrub" Emma's
head. They are both getting
used to each other.
Emma loves her baths! Emily is scrubbing
away and she is just blowing bubbles!
Amy is the "holder" of Emma during
this bath session.
Emily got in on the whole routine
of bath time and dressing...
Mom got Emma's hair all pretty!
A bow in her hair and everything!
Kenneth and his buddies went 4-wheeling
in St. George a couple of weeks ago.
This IS NOT Kenneth! It is his friend
Kim's son Dennis.
Buddies Kent Frehner and
Kim Rindlisbach.
Kim and his son Dennis.
BFF Kent and Kenneth on the
Honeymoon Trail!
Kenneth and friend Kim.
Grandpa talking to Emma.
Who started this crying? Grandpa
or Emma?
Whoever started this, Emma is not
ready to quit!
Auntie Em to the rescue!
Emma is happy Auntie Em got home
from school to rescue her from
Grandpa!
Amy has been a little concerned about
whether Emma was gaining any
weight or not....
.....so we did Grandma Meyers' trick.
We put her on the food scale on a cookie
sheet and weighed her!
Amy is so proud of Emma!
She weighed in at somewhere around
9 pounds!
My scales are a little goofy, so we weighed
her two or three times. This is the official
weight we are going by!
Emma was a little trooper during this
weighing session!
