A SLEEPING BEAUTY!!

I just couldn't resist this little darling sucking her thumb
with her fingers poking her in her eye!!
She was beginning to wake up and then found her thumb!!
She is finding her thumbs, her fingers, her shirts, her blankets,
her burp cloths, and anything else she can get into her mouth!
Even someone else's hand, arm, or finger! It's no surprise
we love her. She is so much fun!

Learning to sit up by herself!

She still needs some help sitting up, but she loves to try!
And she is so happy!
And she loves her little caterpiller that sings,
counts, and plays music!
She is so bright-eyed! She loves to look all around at everything!
She especially loves bright lights and likes to look out the windows
when the days are so bright!

Emma's 3 1/2 months old now!

After a nap, I unwrap her and she just loves to kick her legs
and wave her arms......
......and she loves to suck on her fist....
....and Amy thinks she may be teething.....
....'cause she sucks on everything and she drools like crazy!
She loves this pose! Amy says it reminds her of King Richard
(from Disney's animated Robin Hood) when he sucks his thumb
and holds onto his blanket!!

More Darling Emma!

I think she must be a little tired! She has been sick with
a little cold this past week!Still a darling!
She definitely takes after her Dad with her
music headphones on! Actually she was
just testing these out for Daddy's class!
Praying? It is good to start early and make it a good habit!
Sitting up so well! She is really getting strong!
Such a darling!

Our Easter Dinner

Our Easter dinner was a small one, but we had a great
time! From left around the table are: Emily,
Rodger, Amy, Emma, Kenneth, Clayton, and Cherie.
We were happy that Cherie and Clayton could come because they
left just about 10 days later to go to their new mission assignment.
They are right this minute headed to the Missouri Independence Liberty
Jail Visitor Center Mission. They are excited for this new
assignment and will be there for the next 12 months!

OUR FAMILY SCHOLAR!!

EMILY DANSIEEmily has been working hard to keep her grades up!
And she did it! If she keeps it up this last quarter, she will have another
certificate to match this one!
She is working hard again! We'll keep encouraging
her to keep up the good work!

Just some cute pictures of Emma

She loves to just kick her legs and wiggle!
And while she is kicking and wiggling,
she loves to talk! Her sounds are so cute.
Just kickin'!
She is in her cute new outfit I bought her!
All dressed up and she goes to sleep! Just like a good
baby should!
Amy was coming from school to take Emma
with her to lunch with the women she works with.
I thought I would really surprise her and put a
ribbon in her hair! I don't have any Elmer's glue,
so I just use my glue stick. Works like a charm!
"I'll always be grandma's sweetie!" as her
shirt attests!

Family Females

Emma and I have lots of fun together!
She is growing so fast!
And she loves to stand up! She loves using those legs
and showing how strong she is!!
Two beautiful girls who love each other! "Even
though she is not a boy" says Emily!
As soon as Emily gets home from school, she
scoops Emma up (even if she is asleep!)
and takes her off to play (or sleep!). It's
great to have them spend so much time
getting to know each other!

WHERE'S MY BABY????!!!!!!!

I had to run an errand one day when I had Emma,
so I waited for Emily to come home from school
to watch Emma while I left.
She loves Emma and likes to watch and play with her,
so I went on my merry way. Emily was tired, but I
didn't think anything about that. while I was on my
way home, I got a call from Amy. "Mom, where's my baby?"
"What do you mean? She and Emily are home."
"Well, I've looked in your bedroom, in the office, and
downstairs and I can't find them!" Then I told her
to look in Emily's room--and there they were.... .....all cuddled up and sound asleep!!!
It was time for Emma to eat, so we were
surprised she was still asleep.....
.....and Emily was supposed to be getting
ready to go to soccer practice!
Do they look like "two peas in a pod"??
We love them both!!

Our House Guests

Kenneth's neice Becki and her darling Kamie stayed with
us after Kamie spent about five days in the hospital
getting her tonsils and adenoids out! Because of
her special needs, they stayed with us three more
days to make sure she was okay before going home
to Daddy in Beaver!
I just had to add this one! (Sorry Becki!)
Kamie has had a hard time learning to swallow,
and the tonsillectomy didn't help! So she was
not swallowing her saliva and it had to come out
somewhere--and everywhere! If you look
closely, you can see a string of slobber going down
past her chin! Her poor little hands were so
cold because of the slobber and that's is where
she likes to keep them--in her mouth!
Here she is so happy and smiling!!
We were happy she had these moments because
there were times she was suffering from the pain!
Kamie has a habit of grinding her teeth. Her
mom, Becki, has discovered that she will quit
grinding her teeth if she has a vibrating toothbrush!
The idea is that the vibration is soothing and
the toothbrush is a diversion.

Another happy Kamie! We are hoping (and
praying) that she will be healthier after this surgery.
Being healthier means more time at school so she
can get the physical and occupational thereapy she
needs to help her to continue to develop physically!
GO KAMIE!!!

More Emma's new toy!

Here is a better picture of Emma's rocker!
And just so you know, I AM NOT spending all
of Emily's inheritance on Emma! I am still
a bargain shopper! Picked this up brand new, in the
package, never been opened at Kid to Kid and
paid $17 for it. It sells at WalMart for $37!
Way to go Grandma!! G-O-I-N-G........

G-O-I-N-G......
GONE!!
Don't you just love sleeping babies??!!

Emma's New Toy at Grandma's

I bought this darling chair for Emma
to use while she is at Grandma's house.
"Bee Happy" on her shirt, but she was in
the "Bee Sleepy" mode instead!
Here is the "Bee Happy" Emma!
Her rocker is brightly colored and has three toys
that hang down. The middle one has the orange
ring that when pulled plays the "Five Little Ducks"
song! Of course, Emma can't pull it yet.

Another happy Emma! What a joy to have her
here so often! It has been VERY interesting
to get into the "baby mode" after all these years!
Boy! Her feet look big! But they are just the
right perportion with the rest of her little
body! She is around 11 pounds now!

Amy's First Day Back to School--Emma's First Full Day with Gram!

We got out the crib that Amy and Emily used many
years ago. I scrubbed it and disinfected it. We bought
a new mattress. Everything shiny and clean.
AND WE WERE READY FOR
EMMA!
And here she is! In her bed at Grandma &
Grandpa's where she is staying while
Mom Amy goes back to work until her
teaching contract is over for the year! She is even using the crib sheet we got for
Emily when she was a baby!
She and Grandma were having a fun time
talking. Mostly Gram talking and Emma
smiling. Sometimes she makes the
cutest sounds! She has found her tongue
and loves to roll it around in her mouth!

Another adorable smile! She is smiling more and more
all the time! And does she ever respond to her
Mom! She and Grandma are working on
similar responses!

Isn't she getting big! She loves to lay and kick her
legs. And when her legs go, so do her arms!

She is so bright-eyed and loves to look around at everything!
